Contractor to patch I-565 between County Line Road and Wall Triana Highway

(Alabama Department of Transportation)

MADISON — Motorists on I-565 will likely face lane closures and delays today and next week as crews repairs potholes on a section of the highway.

Contractor Wiregrass Construction will patch I-565 westbound from west of County Line Road to east of Wall Triana Highway in Madison from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

Though ALDOT does not typically permit daytime lane closures related to the I-565 widening project in eastern Limestone County and western Madison County, nighttime temperatures are currently too cold for paving. The pothole repairs are timed to avoid impacting traffic during peak travel hours.

Additional patching will be necessary on the eastbound roadway as well as the westbound roadway, ALDOT said. However, conditions will not permit further patching until next Thursday and Friday. The contractor anticipates patching during the same timeframe on those two days, weather permitting.
