PRICEVILLE — Alabama Department of Transportation crews will work on I-65 southbound at Upper River Road in Priceville today in preparation for an upcoming overpass repair.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., crews will mill and pave to increase the width of the inside lane under the overpass. ALDOT advises drivers to expect a single-lane closure and delays.

Additionally, crews will re-stripe the lanes Wednesday. However, that operation will be brief.

By widening the travel lane onto the inside shoulder, ALDOT aims to improve traffic flow during an extended closure of the outside lane slated to begin this weekend.

Contractors will reduce I-65 southbound to one lane from 7 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. next Wednesday to repair the bridge on Upper River Road over I-65.
