HUNTSVILLE — Cyber Huntsville has opened applications for its Cyber Academy Scholarship program.
The organization is partnering with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center to provide scholarships for a week at the U.S. Cyber Academy, July 20-25.
The scholarship will be awarded to 16 students and includes one week at the academy, a daily class t-shirt, and a $25 wristband stipend. The scholarship does not include travel expenses. Parents or guardians will be responsible for their child’s transportation.
Applicants will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Must be an American citizen
- Must be in middle school
- Must submit a hand-written essay
- Must include a recent school transcript
- Must show an interest in cyber
- Must be received via email to [email protected] by the cutoff deadline to be announced
Any child or grandchild, age 12-14 years old, of a parent, grandparent, or guardian currently associated with Cyber Huntsville through personal membership, membership of an employer, or Cyber Huntsville-supported government organizations, is eligible to apply. Affiliated organizations include SMDC, AvMC, MDA, PEO MS, PEO AV, RTC, TSMO, MSIC, NASA, SDA, AMC, FBI, and the City of Huntsville.
Applications are available at the link below and the deadline to apply is 5 p.m. April 28. Selections will be made in early May with winner notifications there after.
All submissions must include the application, most recent report card, and the essay. If all three items are not included the student will be disqualified. Email completed applications to [email protected].
