Dangerous cold with single-digit wind chills in forecast for Sunday and Monday

HUNTSVILLE — The weather outside will be frightful Sunday.

Or to quote the National Weather Service Huntsville office: “Dangerous cold is forecast …!”

An arctic front is plunging into the Tennessee Valley late Saturday night with subfreezing temperatures in the forecast through Monday morning.

With winds from the north, wind chills will be in single digits Sunday and Monday mornings.

“Bundle up and take steps to protect your family/neighbors, pets, & pipes,” the weather office said.

The cold front will bring low chances (20-30%) for light rain/drizzle Saturday night into early Sunday.

There is a very low chance of freeze drizzle and/or sleet just as precipitation is tapering off early Sunday.
