HUNTSVILLE — There’s an old real estate adage: “Location. Location. Location.”

And Davidson Technologies is making a move to a location closer to its customers.

Corporate Office Properties Trust announced Wednesday it has a full-building lease for the Huntsville defense contractor at 5300 Redstone Gateway. The building is a 46,000 square-foot, build-to-suit development that will serve as Davidson’s global headquarters.

“Our company’s 27-year legacy is built upon technical and performance excellence,” said Davidson CEO John W. Holly. “Our focus is on the mission, to deter, and defend our nation. Developed by founder Dr. Julian Davidson in 1996, Davidson’s unique culture centers around our employees and emphasizing performance excellence and integrity.

“As our company continues to grow, our new facility will house mission support capabilities for our customers in addition to the company headquarters. We’re extremely excited about our future in the new Davidson building.”

5300 Redstone Gateway is a single-story flex building developed specifically for Davidson Technologies, COPT said. The targeted completion date is early 2024. Upon completion, the building will bring the park to 2.4 million square feet.

“Davidson Technologies has been an important part of the Huntsville community for many years,” said James Lomax, COPT’s vice president of Asset Management & Leasing. “The legacy of this company runs deep, and we’re proud they have entrusted COPT to develop their future home.”
