Decatur PD accepting applications for Explorer program

DECATUR – The Decatur Police Department is accepting applications for its 2025 Explorer Program.

The program is geared toward teens between the ages of 14-17 interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement or learning about the criminal justice system. It runs June 16-26.

The curriculum will cover several different aspects of police work including, physical training, patrol procedures, and traffic control. Students will be required to attend all meetings.

Program applications and participation releases must be completed and turned in to the Decatur Police Department front desk or to a school resource officer by May 19.
