Off The Record: The latest rumors and rumblings in North Alabama
Caroleene Dobson part deux
After losing the race for Alabama’s Second Congressional District in November, Caroleene Dobson is set to make a return to the campaign trail in 2026. While it has been rumored in other outlets she has set her sights on the Attorney General’s office, we hear that’s not the only statewide office she could be eyeing. Dobson proved herself to be a skilled candidate in the congressional race against Shomari Figures and many accurately predicted we would see her again soon.

Bier is officially in
A day after Madison City Councilwoman Connie Spears announced she would not be seeking reelection for the District 2 seat, businessman David Bier announced his candidacy for the position. A local politico tells OTR, “David has been a positive force in the community for many years, he has the experience needed and as a candidate will be hard to beat.” Madison’s municipal election is in August.
