Downtown Huntsville’s holiday on ice: Skating in the Park returns

HUNTSVILLE — A downtown Huntsville holiday tradition returns today when the Huntsville Museum of Art holds a ribbon-cutting for the 10th annual Skating in the Park. The celebration, which includes fireworks, is at 4 p.m.

The outdoor rink will be open through Jan. 8 and special events include:

  • Tonight: Open until 10 p.m.
  • Nov. 30: Family Night
  • Dec. 15: DJ Night
  • Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve Celebration

Regular hours are Monday–Thursday, 4-9 p.m.; Fridays, 4–10 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Sundays, noon–8 p.m.

Admission and rental prices are:

  • $15 for ages 10 and over
  • $10 for ages 9 and under
  • $13 for groups of 10 or more
  • $5 scooter rental
  • $5 discount if you bring your own skates
  • 10% discount at the Museum Store when you show your skating wristband
