“This is one of our most popular events each year, and Green Team is excited to help people get started with their spring gardens,” said Director of Landscape Management Brian Walker. “It’s also a great kickoff to our Earth Day celebration on Saturday.”

Green Team will host Earth Day festivities Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hays Nature Preserve. This free, family-friendly event will include the Rise Raptor demonstrations, other earth-friendly exhibitors and interactive displays as well as a vegetable plant giveaway, face painting, hot dogs and more.

New events this year include the “Science for Everyone” show by Michael Green the Science Machine from 11-11:45 a.m. and an educational bat show by Vicky the Bat Lady from 1-2 p.m.

A community cleanup will also take place from 4-6 p.m. April 22 at Gateway Greenway Park, 116 Cleveland Ave., to commemorate the worldwide observation of Earth Day. Green Team will provide supplies.
