ATHENS — Eggs Up Grill, one of the fastest-growing franchise and full-service breakfast restaurant chains in the country, has opened in Athens. It is the third Eggs Up Grill in the state.
For husband-and-wife duo Alex and Kris McLellan, who also own an Eggs Up Grill in Madison, it’s a special place to open a business.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to serve a broader audience and open in our hometown of Athens,” said Kris McLellan. “We are serving up smiles to our neighbors and invite everyone to join us for the best breakfast, brunch, and lunch in town.”
Signature menu items include the founder’s recipe corned beef hash with potatoes, onions, and special spices, as well as made-to-order omelets, buttery, grilled blueberry muffins, classic breakfast dishes, croissant-style donuts, and lunch selections including burgers, melts, salads and more.
The restaurant will serve guests seven days a week 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Eggs Up Grill also caters for any size events with a menu featuring breakfast standards eggs, grits, home fries, biscuits, and gravy and muffins. Salads and sandwiches are available for catered lunch.
All about neighbors serving neighbors, the McLellans offer a 10% discount to first responders and veterans at both restaurants. They are also active in helping raise funds for youth sports programs.
