SCOTTSBORO – Let the competition begin.
A group of local entrepreneurs will take the stage Wednesday in Scottsboro to pitch their business ideas with the hope of landing thousands of dollars in funding and resources.
The Singing River Trail Launch Tank competition features nine local entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas for a shot at $25,000, thanks to a partnership with Innovate Alabama.
“We are excited to bring Launch Tank to Jackson County this year,” said Lydia Pennington, Singing River Trail Launch Tank co-chair and executive director of tourism for the Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce in Jackson County. “This competition highlights the power of collaboration and connection, strengthening our region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem for years to come.”
North Alabama’s version of “Shark Tank” sets off at 10 a.m. at the Scottsboro Civic Center where the entreprenuers make their pitches in front of an audience and a panel of judges. A one-hour mingling and networking session precedes the competition.
“The level of creativity and innovation from North Alabama’s entrepreneurs is truly inspiring,” said Misti Potter, executive director of Singing River Trail. “We’re excited to help these finalists gain the funding, connections, and resources they need to succeed.”
The event is free and open to the public. Free tickets are available here.
The Civic Center is at 876 Ed Hembree Drive.
