TUSCALOOSA — With more than 100,000 fans in Bryant-Denny Stadium and just about as many electronic devices there and in the Tuscaloosa area, the bandwidth required for communications could be heavily taxed Saturday.
To help alleviate the problem, Bryant-Denny Stadium has received major state-of-the-art upgrades ahead of the marquee matchup between the Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs.
Arizona-based Galtronics has installed more than 400 of its Galtronics Distributed Antenna System applications and stadium antennas in Bryant-Denny as well as multibeam antennas to support 5G C-Band spectrum and 3300-4200 MHz.
Galtronics, which specializes in wireless antennas and connectivity solutions, said the technology will allow fans to have significantly improved connectivity through high-order sectorization, improved signal quality, and data speeds.
The company’s multi-beam antennas serve large-scale areas such as Bryant-Denny Stadium in a cost-efficient manner, the company said.
“The University of Alabama has one of the most prominent teams in the SEC and it was an honor to upgrade the attendee experience at the stadium …,” said CEO Leighton Carroll. “More and more of the nation’s top college and professional sports venues are choosing Galtronics’ antennas to help exceed attendees’ expectations for an ‘always on’ quality connection.
“When connections count, major stadiums choose Galtronics.”
