GFiber has promoted Huntsville native Whitney Swinney to inventory market lead for its Huntsville and Nashville markets, the company announced.

Swinney, who has 15 years of experience in the Southeast telecommunications industry, will oversee network expansion and lead negotiations for multi-family and mixed-use developments across North Alabama and Middle Tennessee.

“Moving into the Market Lead role for Huntsville and Nashville is a true full-circle moment for me after five years of building partnerships here at GFiber,” said Swinney. “This transition allows me to deepen my commitment to the Tennessee Valley and Middle Tennessee by marrying our professional growth with my personal passion for community mentorship and board service.”

A graduate of Sparkman High School, Swinney was part of fast-pitch softball state championship teams as a player in 2006 and as a coach in 2012. She later attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where she played four years for the Chargers.

Swinney is active in the community, serving on multiple boards and committees, including Leadership Greater Huntsville, the Huntsville Committee of 100’s young professionals group, the National Children’s Advocacy Center and the Rocket Chef committee at Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center.

“Whether it’s through my work with Leadership Greater Huntsville or supporting the next generation of leaders at UAH, my goal is to ensure GFiber remains a dedicated partner that empowers the local initiatives and neighbors that define our region’s unique spirit,” Swinney said.

Swinney and her husband, Justin, are also active in the North Alabama athletics community and regularly attend games at Les Stuedeman Field.
