BIRMINGHAM – To help strengthen workforce development for for Alabama’s growing commercial construction industry, Go Build Alabama has launched an updated Training Page.

The platform is a more user-friendly directory of training opportunities, including high school career tech programs, apprenticeships, college pathways and industry-specific certifications, a news release said.

“This … represents a forward-looking investment in Alabama’s commercial construction industry,” said Jason Phelps, executive director of the Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute. “By simplifying access to high-quality training, we’re creating more  opportunities for individuals and helping employers build the talent they need.”

Users can filter opportunities by trade, region and program type to find education paths that align with their goals.

Additionally, the platform highlights grant-funded opportunities supported by the Alabama Construction Industry Craft Training Board, offering training at a discounted rate.

The updated hub is designed to grow and evolve, with programs and opportunities added regularly, according to the news release.

As it develops, the Training Page is positioned to become the state’s primary destination for skilled trades education, offering the most current and comprehensive view of commercial construction training across the state.

“We’re focused on delivering a resource that keeps pace with industry demands,” said  Phelps. “As we expand training opportunities statewide, this platform will be essential to  building a strong and sustainable future for Alabama’s workforce.”
