HUNTSVILLE – The Korn Ferry Tour is not returning to Huntsville next year, sports management agency Knight Eady announced Tuesday. The tournament has been in Huntsville three years.

The tour, which is a step below the PGA in professional golf, came to the Rocket City and launched the Huntsville Championship, before being renamed the Home Lenders Championship. The tournament was played at The Ledges in South Huntsville.

No reason was given for the decision.

Birmingham-based Knight Eady, which handles many events in Huntsville, released a statement saying the decision was made after months of review, but added Huntsville Championship could still have a future.

“The team at Knight Eady is hopeful that it does not mean the end of golf in the Rocket City. We’re grateful for your support over the past three years,” the statement said. “Whether you were a volunteer, a sponsor or a member of the community who came out and enjoyed a day of golf with us, we’re thankful for all that you’ve done to support us.

“We invite you to join us in building the future of the Huntsville Championship. To be the first to know about what the future holds, be sure to follow us on all social media platforms.”

Updated information for the Huntsville Championship can be found on X, formerly known as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
