HUNTSVILLE — It’s the calm before the storms.

The weather today will be pleasant but things start cranking up with rain and storms rolling in Saturday.

A line of strong to severe storms is forecast Saturday evening with multiple weather hazards possible, according to the National Weather Service Huntsville office.
“Our recent heavy rainfall will make the area susceptible to flooding again on Saturday,” the office said. “High rain chances are forecast throughout the day on Saturday with heaviest rainfall expected with the main line of storms Saturday evening into overnight.

“Damaging wind gusts will be the most likely threat with these storms; tornadoes may form within the main line.”

Temperatures today will be in the low to mid-50s and will warm up into the 60s Saturday. However, lows will be in the 20s overnight Saturday with the cold front moving in.
