WASHINGTON — Three Alabama sites are part of a Lockheed Martin Space contract that received a $142 million modification, the Department of Defense announced.

The California-based defense giant was awarded a $142,621,543 noncompetitive, cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and firm-fixed-price contract modification under a Foreign Military Sales case to the United Arab Emirates.

The total value of the contract increased to $876,747,896, according to a DoD news release. Under the modification, the contractor will provide continued maintenance and sustainment support for two Terminal High Altitude Area Defense batteries for UAE, the release said.

The scope of work includes logistics management, logistics product database, training, missile and ground repair and return, hardware and software development and sustainment, hardware in the loop, engineering services, missile field surveillance program, and country unique specialty engineering for the FMS client.

The work will be performed in Huntsville, Anniston, and Troy; as well as UAE; Sunnyvale, Calif.; Grand Prairie, Texas; and Camden, Ark.

The performance period is from January 2026 through August 2028.

The Missile Defense Agency on Redstone Arsenal is the contracting activity, the release said.
