Huntsville City FC ready to ‘blast off;’ preseason schedule includes scrimmage with UAH

HUNTSVILLE – The matchup and kickoff times for the inaugural “Blastoff Battle Invitational” have been set by the Huntsville City Football Club.

HCFC is holding the season-opening, three-day invitational Presidents Day Weekend (Feb. 16-18) at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium.

HCFC kicks off the slate Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. by hosting FC Tulsa of the USL Championship league. The “Boys in Blue” will return to the pitch Feb. 18 at 2:15 p.m. to close out the tournament against MLS NEXT Pro newcomer Chattanooga FC. 

Also participating in the invitational is South Georgia Tormenta FC of the USL League One, who will take on Chattanooga FC at 4 p.m. Feb. 16 and FC Tulsa at 11 a.m. Feb. 18.

General admission tickets for the Blastoff Battle Invitational are savailable here. At $25, general admission weekend passes give fans access to all four matches, while $15 single-day passes provide fans tickets to two matches either Feb. 16 or 18.

Along with the “Blastoff Battle”, Huntsville City FC announced the addition of five preseason matches to its schedule – four of the matches are closed doors.

Among the highlights is an open-to-the-public outing March 9 against UAH at the John Hunt State Championship Soccer Stadium. Ticketing information for the match against the Chargers will be released in the upcoming weeks.

• Feb. 10, 2 p.m. – Chattanooga Red Wolves* (Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium)
• Feb. 16, 7 p.m. – FC Tulsa (WFF@JDS)
• Feb. 18, 2:15 – Chattanooga FC* (WFF@JDS)
• Feb. 24, 2 p.m. – Birmingham Legion* (WFF@JDS)
• March 1, 6 p.m. – Tampa Bay Rowdies (IMG Academy, Bradenton, Fla.)
• March 8, 7 p.m. – Atlanta United 2* (WFF@JDS)
• March 19, 2 p.m. – UAH (John Hunt State Championship Complex)
