Huntsville City FC, Theatre Huntsville offer inaugural ‘Fright Nights’

HUNTSVILLE — Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium is set to be the site of a spooktacularly good time in the coming weeks.

Thanks to a collaboration between stadium staff and Theatre Huntsville, the first ever “Fright Nights” are coming to The Joe Oct. 24–26 and Oct. 31–Nov. 2.

Theatre Huntsville Executive Director Leslie Gates said the event feaures a haunted swamp, zombies, Dr. Frankenstein’s castle and Count Dracula.

“You’ll be able to walk through the swamp where you will have a cemetery stroll, possibly be visited by some zombies, and you’ll end up at Dr. Frankenstein’s castle,” Gates said. “After that, you’ll be able to visit Dracula’s castle and vampires through the ages. We’ll start back in the before times when Dracula, the legend of Dracula began up through mid-century to see how vampires have evolved.”

However, Gates said “Fright Night” is not meant to be intimidating, just fun.

“It’s spooky, but there’s no big jump scares that are going to give everybody a heart attack,” Gates said. “So I think that everybody will enjoy it. Of course, after you go through the haunted spaces, there’s going to be plenty of other things that Huntsville City Football Club has for you to enjoy.

“We’re really looking forward to this partnership and we’re really looking forward to showing everybody a spooky good time for Halloween.”

Additionally, there will be photo stops along the space so participants can take selfies.
