Huntsville companies are among 16 businesses selected by NASA for a new $1.4 billion logistics contracting vehicle supporting work across the space agency.
The selections include Huntsville-based LogiCore Corporation and Yulista Support Services, along with KBR Wyle Services, which has a major Huntsville presence. Leidos and two ASRC Federal companies, both with substantial operations in the Rocket City, were also selected.
NASA announced the Enterprise Logistics Support Services agreements last week and updated the announcement Oct. 2 to clarify the names of the companies selected.
The $1.4 billion figure is the overall value of the blanket purchase agreements, not an individual award to each company. The agreements establish a pool of contractors NASA can use to issue future orders for logistics and support work.
For Huntsville, the selections put several familiar names in position to compete for work under a broad NASA logistics program that includes everything from government property and transportation to the handling and support of flight hardware.
NASA said the agreements cover equipment and property management, transportation, disposal, product support, flight hardware support operations, equipment maintenance and repair, export control, move operations and purchases of flight hardware and other materials.
Among the most directly local selections is LogiCore Corporation, headquartered in downtown Huntsville. The company specializes in logistics, systems engineering and product support, including work supporting Army aviation, missile and other weapon systems.
Yulista Support Services also has a substantial Huntsville footprint, with operations at Redstone Gateway and in Meridianville. Its capabilities include supply chain management, warehouse operations, maintenance and repair, engineering, fabrication and field support. Federal contracting records list a Huntsville address for Yulista Support Services.
KBR Wyle Services was also among NASA’s selections. KBR has long been a major NASA and aerospace contractor in Huntsville, and federal contracting records include Huntsville operations for KBR Wyle Services.
NASA also selected Leidos Inc., which maintains major operations in Huntsville, and ASRC Federal Administrative Services and ASRC Federal Professional Services. ASRC Federal has operated in Huntsville since 2009 and says it employs more than 300 people across the Tennessee Valley.
The new contracting structure is intended to standardize logistics requirements across NASA, improve reporting and simplify the management of costs and resources.
Under the General Services Administration’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus contracting framework, NASA can use firm-fixed-price, time-and-materials, labor-hour or hybrid contract types when issuing work.
The initial ordering period began Oct. 1 and runs through Sept. 30, 2031. NASA also has three optional one-year ordering periods and an additional six-month extension option.
The full group of 16 contractors includes Akima Facilities Operations, Akima Global Logistics, Alutiiq Operations Services, ASR International Corporation, ASRC Federal Administrative Services, ASRC Federal Professional Services, IAP World Services, KBR Wyle Services, Leidos, LogiCore Corporation, Prime Response, S&K Applied Solutions, TechTrans International, Tetra Tech, TRAX International and Yulista Support Services.
The agreements do not guarantee that each contractor will receive an equal share of the $1.4 billion. Instead, they give NASA a pool of qualified companies from which it can obtain logistics services and issue work over the life of the agreements.
For Huntsville’s contractors, that creates another avenue to support NASA missions extending beyond the engineering and spaceflight development work traditionally associated with Marshall Space Flight Center, reaching into the logistics, hardware, transportation and supply-chain operations required to keep those missions moving.
