Huntsville Hospital Foundation has named Amy George its new president, where she’ll lead fundraising and community engagement efforts for the hospital going forward.

George steps into the role after Sarah Savage-Jones announced her retirement following seven years leading the organization.

George isn’t new to the organization — she’s spent more than 20 years with Huntsville Hospital Foundation, starting as a volunteer before working her way up to director of development, the position she held most recently before this promotion.

“Huntsville Hospital Foundation exists because our community believes everyone deserves quality healthcare close to home,” George said in a statement. She said her team will continue strengthening relationships with donors, partners and the community, building on the foundation Savage-Jones created during her tenure.

Huntsville Hospital also recognized Savage-Jones’ departure, crediting her with transforming healthcare philanthropy in the region over the past seven years and calling her leadership a legacy that will benefit patients for generations to come.
