Huntsville Hospital continues to be a leader in the community when it comes to employment opportunities and workforce training for those who want to boost their careers in North Alabama.
Most recently, that impact earned the Huntsville Hospital Health System a spot on Forbes’ 2025 list of America’s Best-in-State Employers. Forbes awarded them the honor based on the “organization’s strong workplace culture and commitment to employees across the Tennessee Valley.” This is the second year in a row for HH Health on the Forbes list and the third time making the list. Previous honors occurred in 2024 and 2022.
“Being recognized by Forbes again is especially meaningful because it reflects what our team says about working here,” said Jeff Samz, President and CEO of Huntsville Hospital Health System. “Their dedication to excellent, compassionate care is what makes HH Health a special place to work and to receive care.”
HH Health System has 20,000 employees caring for more than 136,000 inpatients and 382,000 emergency patients each year, making it one of the region’s largest employers and contributes more than $4.2 billion annually to the North Alabama economy.
“Our goal is to create an environment where every team member can grow, feel supported, and do their best work,” added Jennifer Holly, Vice President of Human Resources. “We’re grateful for this feedback and remain focused on programs that strengthen career pathways, well-being, and belonging across our system.”
HH Health isn’t just creating jobs, but helping train the next generation of medical professionals. Huntsville Hospital is busy preparing for its second annual Nurse Camp in June 2026. This free, hands-on program is designed to introduce high school students to careers in nursing.
Nurse Camp allows participants to shadow registered nurses in a variety of hospital settings, including medical, surgical, cardiac and neurologic units at Huntsville Hospital, as well as pediatric and women’s health units at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. Students will also take part in learning activities focused on infection prevention, first aid and disaster management.
Madison Hospital, which is a member of HH Health System, has its own free summer camp offering shadowing experiences with nurses, respiratory therapists, imaging technicians, lab personnel, registered dietitians and facility maintenance experts. Madison Hospital Camp will take place June 8-10, 2026. Click here to apply.
