Huntsville Hospital Health System has named Jeremy Gray president of Helen Keller Hospital and Red Bay Hospital, following a nationwide search for the role.
Gray steps into the position Aug. 3, where he’ll focus on supporting hospital staff, expanding patient access to care and continuing to build out services for Northwest Alabama.
Gray brings a background that spans both clinical care and administration. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Science in Health Administration from UAB, and began his career as a physical therapist at UAB Hospital before moving into hospital leadership.
“Helen Keller Hospital has a proud history of serving the Shoals, and this community deserves strong, steady leadership as we continue advancing care close to home,” said Jeff Samz, president and CEO of Huntsville Hospital Health System. “Jeremy brings the experience and commitment to community-based care needed to build on Helen Keller’s strong foundation.”
Sam Dean, Huntsville Hospital’s executive vice president of regional hospital operations, said Gray stood out during the search process for both his experience and his leadership approach. Gray will report directly to Dean once he assumes the role.
“Helen Keller Hospital has an important legacy of caring for its neighbors, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help lead its next chapter,” Gray said. “I look forward to working alongside our employees, physicians, board members and community partners to strengthen services, support growth and continue providing high-quality care for the Shoals.”
