HUNTSVILLE – Will the third time be the charm for the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Update?

Due to persistent hazardous road conditions expected Friday, the annual event was moved to Monday; it was originally scheduled for today and then postponed to Friday.

The sold-out event at the Jackson Center at 6001 Moquin Drive begins with a buffet at 11:30 and the program begins at noon. Reservations will not be accepted.

Scheduled speakers include:

  • Sen. Arthur Orr, Senate Finance & Taxation Education Committee Chair
  • Sen. Steve Livingston, Senate Majority Leader
  • Rep. Rex Reynolds, Ways and Means Committee Chair

The legislators hail from north Alabama and have tremendous impact on the legislative process and funding state government. They are expected to share expectations for the coming legislative regular session, which begins Feb. 6.
