Industry leaders from across Alabama’s automotive sector will gather in Huntsville next week for a one-day summit focused on how emerging technologies are reshaping modern manufacturing.
The Smart Technology for Smarter Manufacturing Summit, hosted by the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association, is scheduled for April 29 at the Jackson Center, beginning at 8 a.m.
Organizers say the event will bring together original equipment manufacturers, suppliers and technology providers to explore practical applications of artificial intelligence, automation and the Internet of Things across production environments.
“We’re excited to welcome OEMs, suppliers and technology providers for a full day of insights, live demonstrations and interactive exhibits focused on new, practical and fast solutions,” said AAMA President Ron Davis. “The summit reflects the strength and forward momentum of Alabama’s automotive industry.”
The event is designed to highlight real-world, shop-floor-ready technologies rather than theoretical concepts, with sessions focused on improving efficiency, product quality and operational performance.
Attendees will have access to eight live demonstrations covering areas such as robotics, machine vision, predictive analytics, supply chain tracking and collaborative automation. Participating companies include HD Hyundai Robotics, FANUC, KEYENCE and Surgere, among others.
“The presenters will showcase practical, shop-floor-ready solutions that demonstrate how advanced system technologies are helping manufacturers improve quality, reliability and efficiency,” said Michael Gaines Jr., a manufacturing planning and control leader with Honda Development and Manufacturing of America.
The summit is part of AAMA’s broader effort to support innovation and collaboration within Alabama’s automotive industry, which continues to be a key driver of the state’s economy.
Registration is open to AAMA members for $125 and $150 for non-members.
