Huntsville Utilities to replace poles and lines on US 72

HUNTSVILLE — Motorists travelling on U.S. 72 east of Huntsville will face lane closures for the next several days.

In a news release, Huntsville Utilities said contractors are closing the outside, eastbound lane of U.S. 72 from Moores Mill Road to Jordan Road while they install utility poles and lines. The closure will last from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. daily until further notice.

Huntsville Utilities asks motorists to avoid this area, if possible, by planning alternate routes. If alternate routes are not available, be prepared for shifting traffic patterns and possible delays.

Motorists are asked to drive with extreme caution through the area.

“Huntsville Utilities thanks the community for their patience and cooperation,” the statement said.
