HUNTSVILLE — One of Huntsville’s most beloved community events is back — and it’s more than just a race.
Registration is now open for the 22nd annual Liz Hurley Ribbon Run, set for Oct. 18, in downtown Huntsville.

More than 6,500 runners, walkers and breast cancer survivors are expected to fill downtown Huntsville in a powerful display of hope, remembrance and strength.
The event features the inspiring Survivors’ Walk followed by a competitive and spirited 5K run/walk.
Since its start, the event has helped thousands of North Alabama women detect breast cancer earlier – and survive it. Proceeds fuel the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation, which provides cutting-edge technology, advanced diagnostics and free support classes for survivors.
This year’s race will fund top-priority needs at the Huntsville Hospital Breast Center, including software upgrades for two 3D mammography machines. These enhancements will improve image clarity and help radiologists make faster, more accurate diagnoses.
The Clarity HD system represents a significant leap forward in breast imaging — designed to improve cancer detection and reduce the number of false positives, leading to better outcomes for women across our region.
Early-bird registration is just $25 through Aug. 31, and includes a free long-sleeve T-shirt featuring original artwork created by Huntsville graphic designer and runner Julia Donovan.
