HUNTSVILLE – The City of Huntsville has added yet another event on its crowded holiday schedule in downtown with Big Spring Jingle.

The event is slated for 5-8 p.m. Friday and is presented in partnership with the Huntsville Museum of Art and Downtown Huntsville Inc. Visitors with special needs or who have sensory disorders are invited to attend from 4-5 p.m. to enjoy the same fun, but with lower sound volumes, smaller crowds and no line to visit Santa.

“We are thrilled to host Big Spring Jingle alongside these outstanding community partners,” said James Gossett, director of Parks & Recreation. “We invite everyone to come out and celebrate the holidays with us.

“It’s going to be a great evening of fun and entertainment for all ages.”

In a press release from the city, it claims the event Big Spring Park West will transform into a winter wonderland with special holiday lighting, music, a dance floor, prizes and giveaways. Furthermore, even Santa is taking a break from his workshop at the North Pole to visit and pose for photos with his friends.

For those hoping to see a real winter weather event, the city said, Santa’s arrival also means a strong chance of flurries in the park.

Festival goers can also visit Skating in the Park, grab dinner from nearby restaurants or the food trucks on Church Street and visit Tinsel Trail. All activities, except Skating in the Park and food purchases, are free.
