Huntsville residents will soon spot a 13-foot tall boot rolling through town.
L.L.Bean’s iconic Bootmobile is set to arrive in the Rocket City beginning March 28, building excitement ahead of the outdoor retailer’s first-ever Alabama store opening at Bridge Street Town Centre on April 3.
The Bootmobile is a larger than life version of the company’s signature Bean Boot. The custom vehicle, known as a size 708 boot on wheels, will make surprise stops throughout the Huntsville area in the days leading up to the grand opening.
The traveling attraction is designed to introduce the Maine-based brand to the community and give residents an opportunity to snap photos and meet team members before the store officially opens its doors.
The Bootmobile will also make a scheduled appearance during the Rocket City Trash Pandas opening homestand at Toyota Field on April 4 when the team hosts the Biloxi Shuckers.
L.L.Bean, founded in 1912, is expanding into Alabama for the first time with its Huntsville location at 6889 Governors West Drive at Bridge Street.
In addition to promoting the store opening, the company is hiring 40 full and part-time employees, including store team leads and sales associates. According to the company, positions offer flexible schedules, competitive pay, paid training and an employee discount. Applications are currently being accepted online.
Bootmobile appearances will continue through grand opening weekend, with additional tour updates posted online.
The Huntsville store officially opens April 3.
