ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — To celebrate Earth Day, the nation’s top electronics recycler is joining the world’s first “Global e-Stewards Enterprise” with a free E-waste recycling event in Huntsville.

Home appliance and consumer electronics retailer LG Electronics USA and ERI are teaming up Tuesday to provide a convenient way to responsibly recycle unwanted consumer electronics.

The LG Electronics facility in Huntsville is hosting a free e-waste collection event. ERI will collect all unwanted electronics for responsible recycling and refurbishment. The event is noon to 5 p.m. at the LG Electronics Service headquarters at 201 James Record Road.

Those who bring items for recycyling will be eligible to receive a coupon code for LG.com giving an extra 10% off of the pre-tax sale price of Energy Star certified LG appliances, TVs and monitors as well as other popular LG products.

“It is an honor to team with our friends at LG to celebrate Earth Day and bring responsible recycling of electronics to communities across the country,” said John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of ERI. “The work we will be doing on Earth Day at all these LG locations this year is part of our circular mission.

“We will prevent unwanted electronics from ending up in landfills, while providing a convenient way for people to de-clutter.”

All types of residential electronic items will be collected, including computer equipment, televisions, mobile devices and other electronics that contain batteries or electrical cords (with the exception of large household appliances).
