Pryor Field Airport Authority has launched a yearlong celebration marking its 85th anniversary, recognizing more than eight decades of aviation service, economic impact and growth in North Alabama.

Founded in 1941, Pryor Field Regional Airport has served as a transportation hub and economic driver for the region, supporting general aviation, business and cargo operations while helping attract industrial development to Limestone County and beyond.

The anniversary celebration will feature a newly unveiled 85th anniversary logo, which will appear throughout 2026 on airport signage, marketing materials, digital platforms and during special events and community outreach efforts.

“Reaching 85 years is a remarkable milestone for Pryor Field and one we’re incredibly proud of,” said Adam Fox, CEO of the Pryor Field Airport Authority. “This anniversary allows us to reflect on the generations of leadership, employees, partners and aviators who built Pryor Field into what it is today, while also highlighting the continued growth and opportunities ahead.”

The commemorative logo was designed by Autumn Fox of Elevated Design Co. and is intended to reflect the airport’s aviation legacy, its deep community roots and its ongoing role in regional economic development.

Throughout the year, the Airport Authority plans to host and participate in a series of activities highlighting key moments in Pryor Field’s history, major milestones and its long-term vision. Additional details on anniversary events and initiatives are expected to be announced in the coming months.

“This anniversary is not just about looking back. It’s about celebrating the role Pryor Field continues to play in connecting people, supporting business and strengthening our region,” Fox said. “We invite our community and partners to join us throughout the year as we recognize this important milestone together.”
