Music fans in Huntsville will have a chance to experience emerging talent from Nashville’s music scene this weekend during Live Night at The Camp, a free showcase aimed at strengthening cultural and music industry connections between the two cities.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, at 7 p.m. at The Camp in the MidCity District.
The lineup will feature performances by Nashville-based artists Presley Philpot, Sidecar, McKay and Jonathan Plevyak.
Organizers said the showcase is part of Huntsville’s broader effort to expand its music industry presence and create opportunities for collaboration between artists and music communities across the Southeast.
The event is presented through a partnership involving the Huntsville Music Office, East Iris Studios, the MidCity District and Apollo Coalition.
“Our music export programs are designed to build real bridges between Huntsville and the nation’s most dynamic music communities,” said Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella. “By bringing Nashville artists here and sending Huntsville artists there, we’re creating sustainable opportunities for exposure, collaboration, and career growth.”
Officials said the program is intended to support artist development while helping position Huntsville as a growing destination for live music and entertainment.
Pat Kraus, senior vice president of recording studios and archives for Universal Music Group, said events like the showcase can play an important role for emerging musicians.
“For artists, opportunities like this are transformative,” Kraus said. “Collaborations between cities open new audience pathways, strengthen professional networks and give rising performers a rare chance to build momentum outside their home base.”
Joanna White, executive director of the Apollo Coalition, said the event also aligns with MidCity’s vision of creating community gathering spaces centered around arts and culture.
“The Camp and the MidCity District were built to be cultural gathering places, and this type of exchange is exactly what brings them to life,” White said.
In addition to live performances, attendees can expect food and other amenities available at The Camp throughout the evening.
