A growing community festival that blends music, art and local culture is set to return to Huntsville later this month.

The fifth annual Camp to Amp Festival will take place May 16 from noon to 6 p.m. at MidCity District, offering a free, daylong event designed to showcase North Alabama’s creative community.

Organized by Apollo Coalition in partnership with MidCity District, the festival connects The Camp to the Orion Amphitheater, a stretch that will be transformed into a pedestrian-friendly corridor filled with live performances, local vendors and interactive experiences.

First launched in 2022, the event has grown into a signature celebration of Huntsville’s arts and music scene, drawing musicians, nonprofit organizations, small businesses and artists from across the region.

Festivalgoers can expect live music and performing arts, street performers, artists and a vintage market, and participation from local nonprofits. Organizers say the event is designed to be family-friendly, with activities for children alongside food trucks, restaurant offerings and drink specials throughout the district.

MidCity’s designation as a “purple cup district” will also allow attendees to purchase beverages from participating businesses and enjoy them throughout the event area.

Organizers say the goal of Camp to Amp is to highlight the people and organizations shaping Huntsville’s cultural identity while creating a space for the community to gather and connect.
