Madison Core Laboratories, LLC has appointed Dr. Jeff Wisotzkey, Ph.D., HCLD, CC, as their new chief scientific officer and laboratory director based in the company’s Huntsville corporate office and laboratory on Artie Street in Huntsville. Dr. Wisotzkey brings over 25 years of experience in scientific leadership and laboratory operations in molecular diagnostics, chemistry/immunochemistry, immunology, microbiology, and toxicology to the position.
Dr. Wisotzkey will oversee all the company’s scientific and clinical development, including the execution of clinical laboratory activities and regulatory affairs. He will also provide strategic and tactical input for research and development opportunities.
Dr. Wisotzkey came to MCL from Phase2 Labs, a large acute and chronic respiratory disease-focused laboratory in Nashville where he was chief scientific officer. At Phase2, he was responsible for building out the Lab’s molecular detection and characterization technologies via qPCR and NGS, in addition to serological analysis, flow cytometry and other diagnostic laboratory modalities.
Prior to that, he served as the CSO and clinical laboratory director for Diatherix-Eurofins here in Huntsville.
Dr. Wisotzkey has a doctoral degree in molecular biology from the University of Houston and completed postdoctoral training at Pennsylvania State University’s Hershey Medical Center. He is a board-certified high complexity laboratory director (HCLD) and clinical consultant (CC).

During his career, Dr. Wisotzkey has held senior positions with Health Network Laboratories in Allentown, PA; Genomind in King of Prussia, PA; Central PA Alliance Laboratory in York, PA; and for York Hospital in York, PA.
He has also served on numerous professional advisory boards and industry committees.
