Five companies with a presence in Huntsville are among nine firms selected for a $349.4 million Navy contract to support unmanned maritime systems, the Department of Defense announced this week.

The Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific in San Diego awarded the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, multiple-award contract covering technical support for unmanned maritime systems, including design, fabrication, development, integration, testing, fielding, maintenance, training and program management. The eight-year contract runs from May 12, 2026, through May 13, 2034.

Huntsville-headquartered Astrion Group, LLC is among the nine awardees. Formed through the merger of ERC and Oasis Systems, Astrion maintains a major presence at Redstone Arsenal. Also sharing in the award are four companies with significant Huntsville operations: HII Mission Technologies Corp., Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), Peraton Inc. and ManTech Advanced Systems International, Inc.

The remaining four awardees are Abbott On Call Inc. of Vienna, Virginia; Naval Systems Inc. of Lexington Park, Maryland; Prescient Edge Corp. of McLean, Virginia; and Serco Inc. of Herndon, Virginia.

The contract was competitively awarded after 21 companies submitted proposals. Each of the nine winners will have the opportunity to compete for individual task orders throughout the contract period. No funds are obligated at the time of award.

Work will be performed primarily in San Diego, with 10% conducted outside the continental United States.
