Madison group offers community impact grants

MADISON – A new year brings new opportunities as Madison Visionary Partners’ is accepting applications for its community impact mini-grant cycle.

Designed for nonprofits and organizations that are doing work or wanting to do work in the City of Madison, the total amount awarded in 2023 will be $15,000. Community impact grant applicants can apply for amounts of $500 up to $2,500.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 10 – click here. A copy of IRS tax determination/eligibility must be attached to the application.

Grant requests will be approved by the Madison Visionary Partners’ board of directors. Winners will be notified by March 1 and funds will be available March 30. Awards must be used within a year of receipt.

Recipients of the 2023 Community Impact Grant will be recognized at the Madison Visionary Awards luncheon March 30 at the SportsMed Club at Toyota Field. A representative from winning organizations should be present to receive the award.

Applicants should consider applying in the following categories in which needs exist and grant requests are encouraged: animal welfare; arts and humanities; education and literacy; food, food security; agriculture and nutrition; health and safety; housing and shelter; human services; and workforce development.

Do not apply for grants in areas such as administrative operations; advertising and sponsorships; endowment and annual campaigns; debt retirement or restructuring; fundraising events and fundraising feasibility studies; lobbying and political activities; commissioned studies to educate policymakers; programs of a religious nature; programs already offering scholarships, stipends or incentives to participate; and trips and/or conference attendance, including registration fees, travel reimbursements, etc.
