Madison school employee arrested on child abuse charge

MADISON — A Madison City Schools employee was arrested today on a charge of child abuse, according to the Madison Police Department.

In a news release, police said Barbara Tribble, 58, of Toney was charged following an investigation into the alleged physical assault of a child while she was employed at Midtown Elementary School.

Tribble was taken to the Madison County Jail and held on $5,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information can be released at this time, police said.
