Mazda Toyota and Team ONE hosting job fair – hundreds of jobs available

HUNTSVILLE — According to career experts Zippia, almost 1 million Americans work in automotive and parts manufacturing and there are several solid reasons why.

First, the career outlook is promising, particularly for automotive service technicians and mechanics. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts 6% growth from 2016 to 2026.

There are versatile career opportunities in the automotive industry, especially in technical and mechanical positions.

Automotive is a high-tech industry of the future.

Industry jobs are easily attained because of programs that offer hands-on training. People can begin their careers as soon as they graduate.

And fifth, and most importantly, automotive manufacturing industries salaries are very competitive.

Mazda Toyota Manufacturing recently increased its starting hourly wages to $19 an hour and top rates to $25.65 an hour for production team members. For skilled team members, starting wages rose to $26.29 an hour, and top wages rose to $36.65 an hour.

So, for those looking to change careers or are out of work and wanting to jump back into the workforce, the Mazda Toyota joint Team ONE Job Fair is the place to be. It is Saturday from 7:30-11:30 a.m. in the Huntsville Marriott at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.

There are about 500 positions available at Mazda Toyota and approximately 200 more among the more than a dozen partner companies.

The positions are for all skill levels, including those with no manufacturing experience.

Wages, benefits, and shift offerings will vary by company. There will be opportunities for anyone looking for a new career in manufacturing.

It is also an opportunity to learn more about Mazda Toyota and its suppliers and service-providers. They help build the all-new Toyota Corolla Cross and Mazda CX-50 and they are ready to guide you into a new and exciting career opportunity.

“Team ONE is what we call MTM and our supplier partners,” said Jamie Hall, assistant manager of workforce planning. “But there is a deeper meaning in the name: ONE stands for Onsite, Near-site, and Everyone. It really is a team effort to build the Corolla Cross and the CX-50, and we are growing that team every day.”
