Mazda Toyota Manufacturing drives impact in community with annual Grant Fund awards

MADISON — As a vehicle for giving back to the community, Mazda Toyota Manufacturing has announced the recipients for its annual Grand Fund.

The grants totaling $168,000 weree given to 24 organizations that participated in the Spring Grant Fund. This is the sixth round of grant funding distributed by MTM since 2022, the company said in a news release..

Nonprofit organizations who apply are down selected through the grant fund process and the finalists participate in a “MTM Pitch Day,” where they have five minutes to pitch their organization’s program to the MTM grant committee, according to the release.

Every finalist receives a grant of $1,000, with larger awards going to those who are selected by the committee.

“Our team enjoys the opportunity to interface with our community and give back in this way,” said MTM Vice President of Administration Rhonda Gilyard. “We want to impact not just the organizations that we give to, but our North Alabama community as a whole.”

The grant winners were ShowerUp Huntsville, Hartselle City Schools, AUM Foundation, National Children’s Advocacy Center, North Alabama National Society of Black Engineers, The Schools Foundation, the Food Bank of North Alabama, Madison City Schools, Calhoun Community College Foundation, Huntsville City Schools, Grandparents as Parents, Committee on Church Cooperation, Huntsville Madison County Botanical Garden Society, Madison County Schools, New Hope Children’s Clinic, Thrive Alabama, the ELM Foundation, Village of Promise, Ability Plus, and Huntsville Tennessee Valley Ambucs.

In recognition of its positive impact on the community, Mazda Toyota will receive the Community Foundation Philanthropy Award at the 16th annual Summit on Philanthropy, hosted by the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville.

This event serves to celebrate and inspire local generosity, as well as recognize those who exemplify its spirit.

“Mazda Toyota’s investment in this community has been significant and strategic, and it has not gone unnoticed,” said Melissa Thompson, CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville. “It is our privilege to honor MTM’s contribution at our Summit on Philanthropy on Oct. 30.”
