HUNTSVILLE — You have to give credit to the National Weather Service Huntsville office crew, they aren’t lacking on creative ways to deliver a forecast.
“We on the midnight shift thought of the scariest thing possible for Halloween and came up with this: A Freeze Watch for the entire area Tuesday night!” the staff posted.
After the cold front brings rain today, cold and windy conditions will remain in place through the work week.

“To accompany our Freeze Watch, take a look at our probability of temperature below freezing Tuesday night,” the forecasters wrote. “We often use probabilistic forecasting to aid in decision making. As you can see issuing a Freeze Watch Tuesday night was a no brainer.”

And, speaking of brain power, it’s time to take the usual precautions when subfreezing temperatures in the mid-upper 20s in the forecast:
- Cover sensitive plants or bring them inside
- Ensure your pets are protected
- Dress in layers and bundle up
