Parents and students have only until Friday, April 29, to nominate teachers for the What’s Pop’N Kernels of Knowledge campaign throughout the Huntsville, Madison City, Madison County, Decatur and Hartselle-area school systems. Five teachers will be chosen to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2-6.

According to Lisa Jackman, owner of What’s Pop’N in Huntsville, the past few years have been rough on teachers and students, but teachers should be celebrated for their accomplishments and dedication to students. Teacher Appreciation Week is an excellent time to recognize five outstanding and dedicated teachers.

“Teachers do so much for the kids in our community and deserve to be recognized for their commitment to education,” said Jackman. “The last two school years have been anything but normal, so it seemed fitting to throw a party to celebrate our area’s amazing teachers, and the return to traditional school activities! I wish I could throw a party for all educators because they all deserve it.”

The five winning teachers will receive a gourmet popcorn party for their classroom and will appear on social media to further recognize their outstanding commitment.

To nominate a teacher, fill out the form here and answer the question “Why is your teacher or student teacher so amazing and what makes them special?”

Nominations must be received by 6 p.m., Friday, April 29. Winning teachers will be announced the week of May 2 – 6, during Teacher Appreciation Week.
