ATHENS — There’s a bash going down in downtown Athens this weekend.

And you won’t want to miss it.

The first Old Black Bear Opening Bash is toasting the opening of the newest downtown restaurant and the newest addition to The Square Arts & Entertainment District.

“With the Old Black Bear Opening Bash, we are celebrating the addition of this great new restaurant to downtown Athens and the extension of the Entertainment District to include them,” said Athens Main Street Executive Director Tere Richardson. “Come out on Saturday … to listen to great local music and help us celebrate.”

Visitors are urged to bring lawn chairs and settle in for some music, food, and, of course, drinks. It all happens at 311 S. Marion Street.
