Pinnacle bank expands in area with office in Athens

ATHENS — To answer a demand from the state’s fastest-growing county, Pinnacle Financial Partners has moved into Athens.

The Nashville-based bank has opened a temporary full-service office in Athens at 112 N. Jefferson Street.

The bank plans to open a permanent space next year at 1394 Freeman Avenue. This is Pinnacle’s second location in North Alabama and fourth in the state since moving into the market in 2021.

“Pinnacle is investing in Alabama and this office will ensure more people have access to our unique brand of banking,” said Jason Baldwin, Pinnacle’s regional president in Alabama. “North Alabama is growing at an incredible pace.

“Communities like Athens are a natural fit for what Pinnacle has to offer, and we’re honored to get to take part in its success.”

Pinnacle entered Alabama in the summer of 2021 with offices in Huntsville and Birmingham.

The Athens team includes:

  • Mary Craig, office leader
Craig joined Pinnacle at the end of 2023. She comes from Regions Bank where she started as a teller and worked her way up from customer service representative, and assistant branch manager to  branch manager. She brings 30 years of financial services experience to the firm.

Jones also comes from Regions and brings 31 years of banking. She most recently served as branch team leader, and prior roles include commercial loan assistant and customer service representative, among others.
  • Beth Feigley, client service advisor
Feigley, also from Regions, served for 25 years in various roles like business loan assistant, teller and senior financial specialist.
  • Bellany Harris, financial specialist
Harris also comes to Pinnacle from Regions where she most recently served as head teller. She has 18 years of financial services experience.
  • Marilyn Smith, financial specialist
