Shoal Creek public boat ramp to temporarily close for utility construction

FLORENCE —  The Shoal Creek Public Boat Ramp on Wilson Reservoir will be closed due for several weekdays for utility construction, the state Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division announced.

The facility near Florence is closing 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sundays through Fridays to May 24. The temporary closure will allow the City of Florence to replace utility lines adjacent to the facility.

However, during that time period, the boat ramp and approximately half of the parking lot will reopen for weekends from 3:30 p.m. Fridays to 7:30 p.m. Sundays.

Funding for a portion of this project was provided through the federal Sport Fish Restoration Program, which is funded by excise taxes on the sale of outboard motor fuel and fishing equipment, and through the sale of state fishing licenses.
