Slimthusiasm spreads, revenues soar with multiple North Alabama Slim Chickens openings

It’s a trend you will find simply delicious! Everywhere the Arkansas-based Slim Chickens opens a franchise, “slimthusiasts” emerge, spreading their “slimthusiasm” by distinguishing themselves from the average chicken lover by being “better chicken” followers.

Ever since Alan Renfroe and Dana Price of Legends Development, LLC opened their first Slim Chickens restaurant in North Alabama October 17 at Clift Farm, that store has consistently proven to be a top-performing store throughout the Slim Chickens more than 100 stores nationwide, according to their corporate headquarters.

The spread is not likely to wane anytime soon as they opened their second location on the east end of Town Madison January 17 and will break ground on a third Madison County location in February on the former Ruby Tuesday property off South Memorial Parkway.

Dixie Chickens, LLC also opened a Slim Chickens in Muscle Shoals on January 10.

Renfroe and Price made a $3 million initial investment in Madison County and each location according to Renfroe, employs 85 team members totaling more than 250 jobs for Madison County. Early estimates predict annual revenues will exceed $5 million per year.

At their pre-opening “VIP Tasting” on January 15, Renfroe and Price laid out a smorgasbord of everything the chicken chain offers its customers since opening at Town Madison Monday, January 17. Famous for their chicken tenders with 17 house-made dipping sauces, fresh salads, sandwiches, wraps, chicken wings, and chicken and waffles.

“Dana and I knew we wanted a chicken restaurant franchise, but we were looking for something different,” said Renfroe. “Someone asked us if we had ever tried Slim Chickens. Dana and I went to Fayetteville where they are headquartered to check it out and we knew immediately it was just what we were looking for.

“It wasn’t a matter of whether we would open stores. It was when, where and how many.”

“Everything from the recipe, the spices in the batter, the sauces, the fresh food preparation, all of it was appealing to us as customers,” Price added. “Since opening at Clift Farm, the feedback from customers has been extremely positive as well.”

They also offer hand-spun milkshakes and unique dessert items like chocolate brownie pudding in a jar.

Slim Chickens offers a fast and cheerful southern casual dine-in experience with a fast-moving drive-thru, curbside pick-up and home/office delivery service.
