Well into his first term in Congress, Rep. Dale Strong plays an integral role in the House Armed Services Committee’s approval of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
The annual NDAA process is central to shaping America’s defense policies and investments.
“Defending our national security and fighting for North Alabama is my top priority as your Representative,” said Strong (R-Huntsville). “From day one, I have prioritized listening to concerns and critical needs of service members, leadership on Redstone Arsenal, and across our industrial base.”
With a vote of 58-1, the FY24 NDAA is ready for consideration by a vote of the full House.
The NDAA is a cornerstone of U.S. defense legislation, providing policy guidelines and appropriations for the Department of Defense. When signed into law, the FY24 NDAA will mark the 63rd consecutive defense authorization.

Throughout the FY24 NDAA markup process, Strong said he is committed to common-sense and strategic national security programs – as well as provisions that directly benefit North Alabama, Redstone Arsenal, and the state as a whole.
“You’d be hard-pressed to find a community that understands the importance of protecting America’s men and women in uniform better than North Alabama,” Strong said. “In this bill, I championed what the Tennessee Valley does best: missile defense, cutting-edge research and development, and national security space and cybersecurity programs.”

“Since day one, Rep. Strong has worked diligently to support the critical work being done in Alabama to protect our national security,” said House Armed Services Committe Mike Rogers (R-Saks). “I thank Rep. Strong for his tireless leadership.”
