Summer sounds: Will Paustian, Steel 6 liven Athens nightlife

ATHENS – Downtown Athens will be alive with the sound of music Friday night with two events scheduled for the area.

The Merchants Alley series winds down its current production before breaking prior to a fall return.

Also, the Athens Main Street Fridays monthly schedule continues with the third of four concerts in the series. The final 2024 scheduled concert is slated for July 26.

Friday’s schedule:

  • Merchants Alley Happy Hour Music Series
    Will Paustian is scheduled to perform from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Alley located between The Southern Table and the Athens Main Street office on Jefferson Street.
    Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair. Additionally, patrons are encouraged to shop and dine locally at the many shops and restaurants downtown.
  • Athens Main Street Fridays After Five – Rock the Square Night, presented by The Orthopaedic Center
    Steel 6 is the featured performer this month. https://www.facebook.com/Steel6Band/
    Attendees can soak up the vibrant atmosphere, enjoy extended shopping hours with local merchants, and enjoy delicious food from local restaurants. There will also be different savory and sweet food trucks and children’s activities at each event.
    Admission to the Fridays After Five Music Series is free. The party starts at 5 p.m., with a DJ warming up the crowd until 6:30 p.m. The main performance starts at 7 p.m. and lasts until 8:30 p.m.
