Sunbelt Rentals breaks ground on six acres, doubles space in Madison

MADISON – Sunbelt Rentals broke ground excavator-style, on a six-acre expansion on Madison Boulevard near the corner of Highway 20 and County Line Road in Madison Tuesday. Mayor Paul Finley scooped up the ceremonial first turn of dirt like a man who has operated heavy equipment before.

With corporate headquarters in Fort Mill, S.C., the Madison location of Sunbelt Rentals alone has grown to a $31.5 million fleet, and their new facility will allow them to carry more equipment onsite.

According to Dennis Kyle, branch manager for the Madison location, they are out of space at their West Dublin Drive location off Sullivan Street, but that facility will become a much-needed Sunbelt Pump & Power location, providing engineered pumping equipment solutions for use in water level management, the repair of existing pipelines and tanks, the transfer of hazardous fluids, and more.

“We worked with Dr. T, our property owner, and Wes Crunkleton at Crunkleton (Commercial Real Estate Group) to build a new facility that is double the space of the other store,” Kyle said. “We will also have a store carrying merchandise, a lot of safety gear and small tools for anybody from the homeowner who needs to rent a lawnmower because theirs is broken down, all the way up to commercial and industrial jobsite workers.”

The company already has a Sunbelt Climate Control & HVAC Equipment Rental and a Sunbelt Flooring division off Dan Tibbs Road in northwest Huntsville, and another Sunbelt Rental general tool store off Leeman Ferry Road in Huntsville.

“What you see here is the power of Sunbelt in North Alabama,” he added.

Mayor Finley said the Madison Boulevard location is all about “location, location, location”.

“This location provides easy access for people who need to rent heavy equipment, providing both daytime and nighttime traffic, which is big for the city,” said Finley. “But more importantly, you are providing families with solid jobs, up to 60 by the time you are done. And you will be here for a long time, in an area that continues to grow, so thank you for being here, and thank you for your investment.”
