ATHENS — The best little-kid carnival in North Alabama is back.

The Athens Lions Club 2023 Kiddie Carnival is every Thursday, Friday and Saturday through July 29 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Hosted by the Athens Lions Club for more than 55 years, the carnival features 10 rides for children ages 2-10. The Athens summer staple includes a small Ferris wheel, train, swings, carousel, rocket ships, scrambler, parachute ride and mini roller coaster.

There is no admission fee and tickets are 50 cents each. Concessions stands serve hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, corn dogs, cotton candy, popcorn and funnel cakes and 50-cent snow cones.

The carnival also features bingo with slow calls and red slide tab bingo cards.

The Kiddie Carnival is at 309 E. Forrest Street. Free parking surrounds the site and it’s cash or check only – no credit/debit cards accepted.

The carnival is hosted by the Athens Lions Club. The service club helps promote good eye health, and offers support to the blind and visually impaired. The club is also a contributor to Camp Seale Harris, a camp for children with diabetes.
