The Orion, Apollo South rock the holidays with music, ice skating, holiday markets and Santa Claus at Winter Park

HUNTSVILLE – Cold weather may be late arriving this year, but Huntsville Venue Group is bringing all the fun and festivities of a traditional winter holiday season to MidCity when they unveil their new Winter Park, Tuesday, November 22, from 4-9 p.m. at Apollo South and the Orion Amphitheater.

Apollo South is TVG’s dedicated year-round food and beverage hub located closest to the Orion in MidCity’s Apollo Park.

Some of the most immersive winter experiences include an ice-skating rink inside the amphitheater bowl where children and adults can skate underneath the stars to the lively tunes from a deejay.

Santa Claus will meet and greet the kids inside his workshop offering plenty of photo opportunities.

Experience life at the North Pole by renting a private igloo where friends and family can enjoy cocktails, charcuterie, and dessert.

Snuggle up around the fire pits with an ooey-gooey but yummy s’mores kit.

There will be plenty of unique shopping opportunities at the holiday markets, and of course non-stop live music at the Orion during Winter Park hours.

Following the grand opening, Winter Park will be open Mondays-Thursdays from 4-9 p.m., Fridays from 11 a.m.- 11 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., through January 29, 2023.

“A big part of our mission at The Orion and Apollo South is to create extraordinary experiences beyond our concert season, and Winter Park offers that and more,” said Katie Millar, general manager of the Orion Amphitheater. “From theme days, to visits with Santa, to specialty food and beverage items, there really will be something for everyone.

“We can’t wait for the people of Huntsville to come and be festive, create memories and embrace the spirit of the season all winter long.”

Winter Park is free to enter with additional activities, festive snacks, and drinks available for purchase.
